John Tarn

John Tarn has a strong background in the field of cybersecurity and IT. John currently works as a Solutions Architect at DeFY Security since April 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Senior System Engineer at Menlo Security Inc. from July 2019 to March 2021. Before that, they held multiple roles at FireEye, Inc., including Senior System Engineer - Named Accounts from April 2014 to June 2019, and Senior System Engineer from July 2013 to April 2014. John also has experience at Barracuda Networks, where they worked as a Sales Engineer - West Coast Strategic Accounts from December 2006 to July 2013, as a QA Engineer from February 2006 to December 2006, and as a Technical Support Engineer from July 2005 to February 2006. John began their career at American Cinema Advertising Network as a Traffic Coordinator/Helpdesk from August 2003 to July 2005. Additionally, John started their professional journey as an intern at click2latino, where they worked from 2000 to 2001.

John Tarn attended Chaminade College Preparatory High School from 1994 to 1998. John then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) at San Jose State University, where they studied from 1999 to 2007. As for additional certifications, John obtained the Kraken Scout certification from Sysdig in August 2022 and the Kraken Hunter certification from the same institution in March 2023.
