Mark Thompson

Mark Thompson is a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer in the Data Protection division at Dell EMC, having provided technical pre-sales advice to Service Provider industry customers since December 2012. Prior to this role, Mark served as a Senior IT Architect at IBM UK Ltd from 1995 to December 2012, where responsibilities included being the design authority for over 250 proposals focused on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. Mark is a co-author of a published paper on business continuity services and has led global initiatives in the same field. Earlier career roles at IBM involved significant contributions to consultancy revenue growth and successful large-scale IT projects, including a pivotal architecture design for a UK government department. Mark began their career as an Industrial Trainee at ICL Fujitsu in 1993. Mark holds a B.Eng in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from Aston University.
