Schalk Human

Schalk Human, PhD, is an Associate Director at Deloitte, where they also currently serve as a Senior Manager, focusing on credit risk modelling. With over a decade of experience, they previously held the position of Manager of Quantitative Analysts at Nedbank, specializing in Basel and IFRS 9 modelling. Schalk has a distinguished academic background, including an extraordinary senior lecturer role at Stellenbosch University and has published 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals. They hold a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Mathematical Statistics, both earned with honours, and are dedicated to fostering positive change through mentoring in both professional and academic settings. Outside of work, Schalk enjoys cycling, chess, and exploring popular psychology.
