Aaron Koons

Aaron Koons has a diverse professional background in tax law, product management, and teaching. From February 2012 to August 2015, Aaron served as a Product Manager at Simplifile, where client research guided project prioritization and management through agile development processes. Prior teaching experience as a Missionary Training Center Instructor at Brigham Young University involved preparing missionaries for Spanish-speaking assignments. Aaron held various legal positions, including Legal Tax Intern at Dallo Law Group and Law Clerk at the Gemological Institute of America, where contract review and memorandum preparation were key responsibilities. As a Senior Tax Consultant and later Tax Manager at Deloitte from August 2018 to June 2021, Aaron gained significant tax consulting experience. Currently, Aaron works as Principal Tax Attorney at NextEra Energy, Inc., starting July 2024. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor and multiple Master of Laws degrees in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law, along with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Brigham Young University.
