Joel Sonkin

Joel Sonkin is a Sustainability Strategy Leader at Deloitte, where they focus on resilience strategy and value creation. Previously, they served as Chief of Energy and Environment for the City of Newark and held various leadership roles, including Director of Resilience + Energy Transition at an unspecified organization. Joel also worked as a Senior Project Manager at AECOM and as Director of Special Projects at Greener by Design, LLC. They began their career as a Sr. Policy Advisor to the Regional Administrator at USEPA. Joel holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Indiana University Bloomington.
