John Bates

John Bates is a principal in the international tax group of Deloitte Tax LLP's Washington National Tax office, where they advise clients on cross-border planning and transactional matters. They are also an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center and actively speak and publish on international tax issues. Previously, John served as a partner in the tax group at Baker & Hostetler LLP and led the international tax team at Ivins, Phillips & Barker. John holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
