Matthias Schmidt

Matthias Schmidt is a Partner in Sustainability Assurance at Deloitte's Center of Expertise, having progressed through roles including Senior Manager and Director in the same department since 2019. Matthias previously served as Head of ESG at the Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer in Deutschland e.V. and led Germany for the International Integrated Reporting Council. They earned a Diplom-Kaufmann degree in Business Administration from the University of Muenster, where they also conducted doctoral research. Matthias worked as a freelancer and consultant for sustainability reporting and held a senior management position at DWS.
