Deltares
Bert van Hattum is a senior scientist specializing in environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology with extensive experience in chemical fate models for antifoulants and ballast water at Deltares since February 2015. Since September 1984, Bert has also been associated with Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, focusing on exposure assessment related to antifouling and ballast water, as well as bioaccumulation and sediment-bound contaminants. Prior to these roles, Bert served as a project manager at the NGO Reinwater Foundation from April 1981 to September 1984, concentrating on environmental quality in transboundary rivers. Educational qualifications include a PhD in environmental chemistry and toxicology from VU University Amsterdam and a Drs (MSc) in Analytical Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Oceanography from Utrecht University.
