Sofia Caires is an expert in metocean conditions and wave dynamics, currently serving as a Senior Advisor/Researcher at Deltares since September 2005. With prior experience as a contractor at Environment Canada and a postdoctoral researcher at KNMI, Sofia has built a strong foundation in the field. Sofia holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from The University of Sheffield, an M.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from the University of Glasgow, and an Engineer's degree in Naval Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico.
