Lebaron Sims

Lebaron joined Demos in April 2021 and serves as an Associate Director of Policy and Research, helping to build and lead the organization’s Economic Democracy work.

Prior to joining Demos, he spent eight years as a staff researcher at Prosperity Now, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low- and moderate-income households build wealth through programmatic and policy interventions. There, he helped to develop the organization’s racial wealth equity portfolio, and provided research, writing, and strategic assistance to state and local advocacy partners across the country. He also served as a research associate at LISC MetroEdge in Chicago, IL, where he provided technical support, analysis and data visualization for local economic development initiatives in cities across the country.

Lebaron holds an M.A. in Urban Affairs from Loyola University Chicago, and a B.A. in Economics from California State University, Fresno.
