Fermín Serna is a Technical Advisor at DeNexus and has over 10 years of experience in the cybersecurity field. Fermín has held various positions such as Chief Security Officer, Advisory Board Member, and Senior Security Software Engineer. Serna began their career as a Security Engineer at S21sec in 2006. Fermín then co-founded Next Generation Security S.L. in 2011 and served as the company's CTO for 5 years. In 2016, they joined Microsoft as a Senior Security Software Engineer and worked on the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) team for 4 years.

Most recently, Serna was the Chief Security Officer at Semmle, where they were responsible for the company's privacy and security practices. Fermín also built and led Semmle's security research team, which found multiple security vulnerabilities. Semmle was acquired by GitHub/Microsoft in September 2019.

Serna has also served on the advisory boards of CoinBeam and DeNexus Inc. Fermín is currently a Technical Advisor at DeNexus and is responsible for providing advice on security and GTM matters.

Fermín Serna attended the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where they studied computer science and engineering. Fermín graduated in 2003 with a equivalent to a master's degree. During their time at the university, they were a member of the IEEE club.
