Wes Carson

Wes Carson is an experienced mining industry professional currently serving as Vice President of Mining Operations at Wheaton Precious Metals since June 2017, with a prior role as Senior Director of Mining Operations. Carson also holds independent director positions at Denison Mines Corp., Arras Minerals Corporation, and Prosper Gold Corp. Previously, Carson worked at B2Gold - Nunavut as Vice President of Project Development and at Thompson Creek Metals Company as Vice President and General Manager for the Mt. Milligan project. Additional experience includes serving as Director of Mining at Terrane Metals Corporation, Mining Manager at Barrick Tanzania's North Mara Gold Mine, and Mine Planner at Placer Dome Canada’s Musselwhite Mine. Early in the career, Carson worked as a Mine Engineer at Elk Valley Coal. Wes Carson completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining and Mineral Process Engineering at The University of British Columbia from 1996 to 2000.
