Sun Yang

Sun Yang is an experienced Electrified Systems Application Engineer at DENSO since July 2019, specializing in inverter applications for electric and hybrid electric vehicles, with responsibilities in planning and executing benchmarking and vehicle tests. Previously, Sun Yang served as a Production Engineer at DENSO, focusing on the inverter production line, kaizen, and process improvements. While at Virginia Tech, Sun Yang held the role of Electrical Team Lead for the Hybrid Electric Vehicle Team, guiding a group in designing electrical systems for a hybrid electric 2020 Chevy Blazer and contributing to the development of electrical and hybrid systems on a 2016 Chevy Camaro. Sun Yang has also completed an internship at DENSO, where responsibilities included alternator and starter applications and cross-departmental collaboration. Sun Yang holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, obtained in 2019.
