Matthew Cutts currently serves as the Head of US Policy & Government Relations at Dentons since June 2022 and is also an Independent Director at Brown Advisory since November 2019. Previously, Cutts was a Partner at Squire Patton Boggs from January 2007 to September 2022 and Chairman of the D.C. Sports and Entertainment Commission from December 2006 to October 2009, where responsibility included promoting sports and entertainment in the District of Columbia and overseeing the construction of Major League Baseball's Nat's Park. Earlier in their career, Cutts worked as an Associate at Patton Boggs LLP from August 1999 to December 2006 and as a Senior Law Clerk for Chief Judge Annice M. Wagner at the DC Court of Appeals from September 1997 to August 1999. Cutts holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Virginia. Additionally, Cutts is affiliated with the University of Richmond since 1993.
