Simone Wright

Simone Wright, Ed.L.D has a diverse range of work experience in the field of education. Simone is currently working at Denver Public Schools as the Chief of Academics, a role they started in July 2023. Prior to this position, Simone served as the Associate Chief of Academics and the Executive Director of Universal School Supports at Denver Public Schools. In 2021, they worked as a Special Advisor in the Office of the Chief Academic Officer at the NYC Department of Education, where they played a key role in curriculum development and coordination between different divisions. Simone has also held positions as a Superintendent Fellow at Lawrence Public Schools, a Policy Fellow at the D.C. State Board of Education, and a Doctoral Student Analyst at the Greater LA Education Foundation. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Director of Academics and Dean of Instruction at YES Prep Public Schools and as a Science Department Chair/Teacher at Houston ISD. Simone began their career in education as a Science Teacher, specializing in Chemistry, through Teach For America.

Simone Wright, Ed.L.D., completed their Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) degree from Harvard University in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Georgia - Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
