With 20+ years of experience spanning fine art, public art, architecture, and design, the studio creates concept-driven work that is sensorial and immersive — often drawing inspiration from patterns in natural systems and data visualization to shape both visual language and meaning. Projects evolve through research, material exploration, and the interplay of construction, composition, light, and color, with the medium selected to best serve the concept, from hand drawing to high-tech interactive light installations. Depeña Studio has successfully delivered public art for sports complexes, universities, government buildings, urban plazas, public parks, airports, corporate headquarters, and along light rail systems, balancing a Ivan's personal studio practice with meaningful public art and placemaking projects.
