Dave Chinweze worked in various roles related to rig electrician and maintenance engineer. Dave started their career in 2009 as a Rig Electrician at British Oil and Gas Exploration Limited, where they performed troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on various electrical equipment. Dave then joined West Africa Service Plant as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of power distribution networks. In 2012, they worked as a Senior Rig Electrician at Sea Wolf Oilfield Services Nigeria, where they performed preventive maintenance tasks on electrical equipment on board a Jack-Up Rig. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Rig Electrician/Technical Engineer at Megadrill Services Limited, involved in an upgrade project for a Submersible Rig. Since 2015, they have been with Depthwize, first as a Senior Rig Electrician and later promoted to Chief Electrician and Chief Rig Electrician roles. In these positions, they have been responsible for maintaining and repairing power generation and distribution equipment, carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting various electrical faults. Dave has worked on different types of equipment such as drilling rigs, pumps, motors, generators, HVAC systems, and control systems.
Dave Chinweze obtained a Pgd in Project Management from the University of Roehampton in 2021. Prior to that, they received a B.Eng. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, where they studied from 2000 to 2007. Additionally, Dave has obtained several certifications, including the BOSIET from CHARKIN Maritime and Offshore Safety Centre, Introduction and Programming with IoT Boards from Coursera, and a Professional Certificate of Competency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs & SCADA) Systems from the Engineering Institute of Technology, Australia.
