Adel Bibi

Adel Bibi's work experience begins with a role as a PhD student and later as a PhD research intern at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology from 2014 to 2020. During this time, Adel worked on analyzing layers in a stochastic optimization setting, resulting in a paper accepted to ICLR19.

In 2018, Adel joined Intel Labs as a PhD research intern, collaborating with Vladlen Koltun and Rene Ranftl. Their work focused on analyzing a block of layers in a stochastic optimization setting.

From 2020 to 2021, Adel worked as a postdoctoral research assistant at the University of Oxford. Their research focused on empirical robustness and probabilistic certification with randomized smoothing. During this time, Adel was awarded the Junior Fellowship of Kellogg College, Oxford.

In 2021, Adel became a junior research fellow at Kellogg College, continuing their research in robustness and certification. They later joined Cambridge Spark as a machine learning consultant in 2022.

In 2023, Adel became the Chief AI Officer at DESAISIV, where they lead AI initiatives. They also hold a role as a senior researcher (PI) at the University of Oxford, focusing on the theory and practice of deep learning, particularly in relation to robustness and certification. In this role, Adel co-supervises PhD students and mentors postdoctoral researchers.

Throughout their career, Adel has received notable recognition, including the Amazon Research Award in 2021/2022 for their work on robustness and continual learning at scale.

Adel Bibi's education history begins in 2010 when they enrolled at Kuwait University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical Engineering. Adel attended the university for four years and completed their degree in 2014.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Adel Bibi continued their education at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. From 2014 to 2016, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electrical Engineering.

Adel Bibi went on to specialize further in the field of Computer Vision and Machine Learning. Adel enrolled in the same university, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, which they pursued from 2016 to 2020.

In addition to their formal degrees, Adel Bibi has also obtained several certifications to further enhance their knowledge and expertise. Adel completed the Deep Learning Nanodegree Foundation from Udacity in June 2017. In November 2015, they obtained a certification in "From the Big Bang to Dark Energy" from Coursera. Adel Bibi also completed the "Effective thinking through Mathematics" course from the University of Austin Texas through edX in August 2015. In April 2015, they obtained a certification in "Statistical Learning" from Stanford University through Stanford Online. Adel also obtained a certification in "Image and video processing: From Mars to Hollywood with a stop at the hospital" from Duke University through Coursera Verified Certificates in March 2015. Prior to that, in September 2014, Adel Bibi completed the "Machine Learning" course from Stanford University through Coursera.
