Brandon Copple

Director, Content Marketing at Descript

Brandon Copple is currently the Director of Content Marketing at Descript. Prior to this, they were the Director of Content & Editorial Strategy at Greentarget Global Group from October 2015 to June 2021. Before that, Brandon was the Managing Editor at Groupon from June 2010 to October 2012, where they managed a team of 200+ Details Writers, Voice Editors, and Image Designers producing daily deal content for the North American market. Brandon also worked closely with major accounts, including Gap, Nordstrom, and Domino's, on editorial strategy and execution.

Brandon began their career as a Managing Editor at Crain's Chicago Business in September 2004, where they produced the award-winning video series Entrepreneurs in Action and built and managed the multimedia department. Brandon also served as the Executive Producer for the daily newscast Chicago Business Today and supervised a newsroom of 10 reporters plus graphics and copy desks working on breaking news and stories about Chicago companies, including McDonald’s, United, Motorola, and Kraft. In addition, Brandon conceived and supervised major cover stories on Motorola’s transition under Ed Zander, Iraq-war veterans’ struggle in the workforce, decline of the CTA, and the fallout from Chicago’s housing crisis. Under their direction, the section won numerous Lisagor Awards for excellence from Chicago Headline Club; reporting, design awards from Society of Business Editors and Writers; editorial awards from Alliance of Area Business Publications.

Brandon Copple has a JD from University of Kansas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Brandon'story from The University of Kansas.
