Established in 1973, DVLC is an open, accepting learning environment for grades kindergarten through fourth grade based on a philosophy of individualized instruction in a noncompetitive classroom atmosphere. Children of different ages are encouraged to work and play in a variety of flexible groupings and to learn from each other. Parents take an active role on campus and in their children’s education. The desert surrounding the school is a central feature of the educational experience for DVLC students.
