Spiros Alexopoulos

Spiros Alexopoulos holds extensive experience in operational research and management, currently serving as Vice Chairman and Special Secretary of the Hellenic Operational Research Society (HELORS) since April 2013, where the organization promotes Operational Research methodology for the benefit of the Greek economy and society. In parallel, Spiros Alexopoulos has been with DESFA SA since June 2010, holding positions including Information Security & Business Continuity Senior Manager, where achievements include obtaining initial ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 certifications, and Enterprise Risk Management Senior Manager, focusing on re-engineering strategies based on ISO 31000 and COSO frameworks. Spiros Alexopoulos has a rich background in the Hellenic Air Force, having achieved the rank of Colonel while managing nationally funded infrastructure projects. Education credentials include a Ph.D. in Operational Research from the University of Piraeus, an MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and an Aviation Project Engineer degree from the Hellenic Air Force Academy.
