Bill Cochell

Director, Custom Applications at Design Power

Bill Cochell has over 40 years of experience in the software engineering industry. Bill began their career in 1975 as a "Jack of all trades". In 1987, they were a Computer Systems Manager at Baltes/Valentino Associates. In 1991, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Honeywell, Inc., where they developed user interfaces for the R&D division of the Industrial Automation Division. From 1995 to 1997, they worked as a Systems Analyst at The Dalmatian Group. During this time, they also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Design Power, where they developed custom CAD applications using C and Common Lisp. From 1997 to 2011, they worked at Bentley Systems as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed custom CAD applications for process plant design using C, C++, C#, and Common Lisp and a Knowledge Based Engineering product. In 2011, they became the Director of Custom Applications at Design Power, Inc., where they continued to develop custom CAD applications for process plant design.

Bill Cochell completed their Master of Computer Science degree at Arizona State University from 1989 to 1991, focusing on Computer Science. Bill then obtained a BS in Architectural Engineering from The University of Kansas between 1978 and 1983. Bill'seducational background also includes attending Albany RIII.
