Ben Roush has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Ben started their career as a Merchandiser at Plant Partners - Metrolina Greenhouses from March 2009 to December 2010. Ben then interned at Elsewhere Artist Collaborative from March 2011 to May 2011 and Swanson + Associates Landscape Architecture from June 2011 to August 2011. After that, they worked as a Student Teaching Assistant at NCA&T State University Landscape Architecture Department from January 2012 to May 2012 and as an intern at Swanson + Associates Landscape Architecture from May 2012 to August 2012. Subsequently, they interned at Sasaki Associates from June 2013 to August 2013 and worked as a Student Teaching Assistant at NC State University College of Design from August 2013 to May 2014. Finally, they joined Design Workshop as an Associate in May 2014 and later became the Office Director in January 2020, a position they currently hold.

Ben Roush has a strong educational background in the field of landscape architecture and horticulture technology. Ben began their academic journey at Alamance Community College from 2008 to 2010, where they earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Horticulture Technology. Following this, Ben pursued their undergraduate studies at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for two years, from 2010 to 2012, receiving a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Landscape Architecture. Building upon this foundation, they furthered their education at North Carolina State University, where they obtained a Master of Landscape Architecture degree with a perfect GPA of 4.0, from 2012 to 2014.
