Tom Gilbert has a diverse work experience history. Tom started their career as a Designer at Carrs Silver from September 2002 to July 2005. Following this, they worked as a Designer-in-Residence at Eton College from September 2004 to August 2005. From March 2006 to February 2010, they served as a Product Designer & Strategist at 1HQ, where they contributed to various projects. Tom then worked as a Freelance Designer from March 2010 to September 2010 before joining Design Bridge and Partners. At Design Bridge and Partners, they held multiple roles including 3D Design Director from September 2010 to May 2013, 3D Creative Director from May 2013 to May 2015, Creative Director of Brand Experience from May 2015 to January 2018, Executive Creative Director from January 2018 to March 2023, and currently serves as the Group Executive Creative Director - Experience Design since April 2023.

Tom Gilbert attended Northumbria University from 2001 to 2002, where they studied Design for Industry. Tom then enrolled at Sheffield Hallam University from 2002 to 2004, earning a First Class Honours degree in Industrial Design. In 2021, they obtained a certification in UX Design Bootcamp from Vertical Institute.
