Roy Ball is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in designing and developing software control solutions for industrial applications. Currently serving as Software Engineer IV at Despatch Industries (Illinois Tool Works) since 2007, Roy focuses on creating both standard and custom software for large-scale ovens and furnaces, utilizing tools such as National Instruments LabVIEW and Rockwell Automation PLC/HMI. Prior to this role, from 1998 to 2006, Roy worked as Lead Qualification Engineer at IBM/JDS Uniphase, where automation of test software for fiber optic transceivers significantly enhanced qualification efficiency. Roy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and an Associate's Degree in General Studies with a focus on Electrical Engineering from Riverland Community College.
