Kris Beisel

Kris Beisel is the Director of Educational Alliances & Training at Destination Imagination. Kris has been with Destination Imagination since August 2010, starting as the Colorado Executive Director, Operations and Administration. In this role, Kris was responsible for directing operations and administration for the Destination Imagination program in the state of Colorado, supporting 10 regional tournaments and over 1,000 volunteers to provide creativity and STEM education to over 5,000 youth annually. Kris was also responsible for ensuring organizational sustainability via fundraising, customer retention and recruitment, budget and cost management, and grant writing, increasing income by 12.5% during the 2012 fiscal year.

In addition to their operational responsibilities, Kris also developed, executed, and presented annual volunteer trainings, resulting in over 800 trained volunteers, serving over 900 student teams. Kris also provided student creativity education programs and professional development workshops, creating new revenue streams. Kris also created an evaluation tool that measures student improvement in team work, creative problem-solving, and artistic ability, demonstrating the benefits of the program to donors, sponsors, and grantors.

Kris is a strong leader who has successfully led teams of constituents, volunteers, and board members to develop and implement overall mission, vision, and strategic plan. Kris has also successfully planned state-wide, annual championship tournament events for over 1,800 youth with 375 volunteers. Kris has established strong relationships with over 60 key volunteers, ensuring sustainable programs.

Kris Beisel has a certificate in Women in Leadership from Cornell University. Kris also has a MS in Organization & Management with a Leadership specialization from Capella University. Lastly, they have a BS in Human Services from Metropolitan State University of Denver.

They work with Johnny Wells - Director of Education, Adam Law - Director of Affiliate Relations, and Kevin McDonough - MD, Internal Operations. Kris Beisel reports to Michele Tuck-Ponder, Executive Director.
