The German Balint Society (DBG) is dedicated to the task of using Balint group work to promote the ‘doctor-patient relationship’ and the practice of relationship management in the helping professions, as well as to examine one's own attitude and behaviour in the relationship.

It organises a large number of conferences throughout Germany at which doctors, psychologists, students and members of other psychosocial professions can experience and complete Balint group work. 

Some Balint conferences have an accompanying scientific programme and focus on specific topics. The Balint conferences are certified by the respective medical association and can be credited towards continuing medical and psychotherapeutic education and training.
