Established in 1904, HF.Deutscher Pty. Ltd. has been a continuous family owned and operated business. Since 1923, it has been located here in Ballarat, Victoria.

The business originally made engines and other pieces of equipment/machinery for the farming sector.

In the early 1950’s it began manufacturing rotary scythes (mowers).  This developed later on, during the mid-1960’s, into the manufacture of ride on mowers - which it continued to do so up until 2008.

Today we produce a range of commercial grade self-propelled mowers, garden chippers and garden chipper shredders. 

All our products are designed, tested and manufactured right here at our facility in Ballarat.

Our products have a reputation for long lasting, rugged design and reliability. The walk behind mowers will go where ride-on’s cannot.

We only use the best quality materials to ensure our end product meets the highest possible quality standard.     

Our products are distributed throughout Australia via our dealer network, and we also export to a number of countries including; Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Kenya, New Zealand and other parts of the world where tough conditions require tough mowers.

Deutscher endorses the policy of keeping jobs here in Australia and, wherever possible, we will only buy locally made componentry.  

HF. Deutscher Pty. Ltd. is also a manufacturer of Healthcare products, including a range of medical beds and accessories.
