Andrea Sheehan

Andrea Sheehan has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Andrea began their career as a Classroom Student Teacher/Classroom Teacher at Westport Public Schools in 1988. Andrea then moved on to North Caldwell Public Schools, where they worked as a Teaching & Curriculum Development specialist, teaching various subjects to students in Grades 2-4 and leading professional development initiatives.

In 1995, Andrea joined Penguin Random House as an Associate Marketing Manager, where they established crucial marketing and sales relationships with AOL, Amazon, and barnesandnoble.com. Andrea also played a key role in creating author websites. Andrea then worked at Barnes & Noble.com as a Publisher Relations Manager and Editor, focusing on sales and traffic growth and establishing merchandising and coop promotions groups.

In 1999, Andrea joined John Wiley and Sons, Inc. as a Director of Global Online Sales. Andrea led a global online sales and marketing team and played a significant role in driving global channel sales from under $5 million to over $80 million. Andrea also developed internal processes for Wiley's online go-to-market strategy, warehouse cycle times, metadata file management, EDI, Print on Demand, and Ebooks.

At Simon & Schuster, Andrea held several roles, including Director of Online & Key Accounts, Director of Online, Key Accounts & Inside Sales, and VP of Director Online Sales & Merchandising. Andrea successfully drove sales increases for offline and online retail and wholesale customers, standardized internal processes for customer marketing and sales analysis, and led critical terms negotiations with key customers.

Andrea's experience in the digital publishing industry continued at Random House, where they served as VP of Director Digital Strategy & Business Development. Andrea set the strategic direction for the Random House Publishing Group and launched strategies for transmedia partnerships and game bible development. Andrea also aligned business units around content conversion for the digital pipeline and oversaw the development of mobile content.

From 2011 to 2012, Andrea worked at Smashing Ideas as Director of Strategic Partnerships. Andrea then became the President and CEO of Outthink Inc. in 2012, where they envisioned a world where kids could connect to their learning and take on real-world challenges.

Most recently, Andrea joined Dev Bootcamp as the Director of the Washington, DC Campus in 2016. In this role, they were responsible for the launch of a new outpost of Dev Bootcamp, overseeing all aspects of the campus including real estate, regulatory approval, admissions, staffing, learning product development, student outcomes, career training, partnership development, community marketing, and operations.
