Mark Garnick

Software Engineer at Dev IQ

Mark Garnick has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2009. Mark began their career as a Research Assistant at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in 2009, followed by a Research Fellow position at Pacific Forum CSIS in 2010. In 2011, they became a Proposal Lead at Digital Management, Inc., where they developed management plans, directed and prepared winning proposals, and monitored and controlled projects. Mark then moved to DMI (Digital Management, Inc.) in 2013, where they worked as a Technical Writer and IA Coordinator, preparing and updating document deliverables, defining customer requirements, creating and updating system administration guides, and coordinating with system administrators. In 2017, they joined TEKsystems as a Security Writer, where they supported the UCHealth User Provisioning team, documented processes, and documented change access and termination processes. Mark then moved to GHG Corporation in 2018 as a Technical Writer. Finally, in 2020 they joined Dev IQ\u00ae as a Software Engineer, where they implemented new features, streamlined UI, and stabilized Dev IQ\u2019s internal video conferencing solution. Mark also implemented an internal google calendar video conferencing add-on and served as a developer implementing user administration and fine-tuning the light recipe process for smart lighting client.

Mark Garnick has a diverse education history. In 2018, they completed a Techtonic Apprenticeship. From 2008 to 2010, they obtained an M.A degree in International Policy Studies and Asian Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. From 2003 to 2007, they obtained a B.A in Government and International Relations from California State University-Sacramento. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including an AWS Associate Solutions Architect from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2021, a HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (002) from HashiCorp in 2022, a CompTIA Security+ in 2014, and ITILv3.
