Tomas Björklund

Tomas Björklund is a native Swedish and fluent speaker of Italian and English, currently serving as the Head of Machine Learning at Devant. They completed a PhD in Deep Learning at Politecnico di Torino, focusing on Convolutional Neural Networks for object recognition and developing a system for automatic license plate recognition. Previously, Tomas held roles as a Product Owner Safety and Principal Engineer within Deep Learning at Volvo Cars, and worked as a Software Engineer at TietoEnator. They also conducted a master's thesis on the automatic segmentation of fibroglandular tissue in mammographic images at im3D. Their academic journey includes a Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering Physics, as well as a Master of Science in Medical Imaging from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
