Chris Nell

Chris Nell has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Chris is currently the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at DeviantArt, Inc. since 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of CTO at DeviantArt and Head of AI Products from 2018 to 2022 at Wix.com. Before joining Wix.com, Chris was the Cofounder and CEO of Tideline Data, a big data consulting company. Chris led projects from inception to production and aimed to deliver practical data products. From 2011 to 2016, they worked at DeviantArt, initially as the Director of Devious Labs, responsible for developing data products for the arts community. Chris also served as a Data Scientist during their time there. Chris's earlier experience includes working as a Software Engineer, Machine Learning at Worio, where they developed algorithms for search-contextual website recommendation. Chris was also a Product Support Engineer at Vorum RC.

Chris Nell completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Guelph, from the years 2000 to 2005. Subsequently, from 2009 to 2011, Chris pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at The University of British Columbia.
