Thomas Funken has extensive experience in the reinsurance and accounting sectors, currently serving as Executive Vice President of Group Reinsurance Accounting at DEVK Rückversicherungs- und Beteiligungs-AG since January 2023. Previously, Thomas held multiple key roles at DEVK Versicherungen, including Executive Vice President for Passive Rückversicherung and Director of Passive Rück & Accounting. From April 2004 to August 2012, Thomas was with GLOBALE Rückversicherung AG as Director and Senior Department Head of Accounting, as well as a proxy holder responsible for various accounting departments. Thomas began a career at Gerling-Konzern Globale Rückversicherung-AG, where various functions were managed in accounting related to retrocession, corporate acquisitions, and facultative reinsurance from July 1991 to March 2004.
