Christiaan Smith

Christiaan Smith's work experience starts in 1994 as a Newspaper Delivery person for Germiston City News. Christiaan then became a Salesman at Pet Masters from 1996 to 1999. After that, they held various roles in different companies, including being a Data Capturer Contractor at Absa for a brief period in 1999. Christiaan worked as a Support Consultant at Cosmos Computers from 1999 to 2000, providing support for in-house software, hardware, and network installations. From 2000 to 2002, they worked as a Contracting Consultant for Fervid, resolving third-line support issues for insurance companies. Christiaan then moved on to Storm Telecom, where they served as a Network Administrator from 2002 to 2006. Following that, they joined MTN in 2006, starting as a Client Hosting Engineer and eventually becoming a Customer Implementation Manager. During their time at MTN, they handled network implementation, high-level architectural design, and project management. Since 2019, they have been working at Devoli as a Core Network Engineer, providing support and architectural design for wholesale customers.

Christiaan Smith completed their Postgraduate diploma in Management (NQF8) at Regent Business School from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they attended Marais Viljoen High School from 1994 to 1998. Aside from their formal education, they obtained various certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in October 2019, the CCIE Routing & Switching Written certification from Cisco in May 2018, and the ITIL Intermediate Release, Control and Validation certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in August 2017. Christiaan also holds certifications in PRINCE2 Foundation, ITIL Intermediate Service Offerings and Agreements, LEAD Forward Programme, ITIL Intermediate Service Strategy, ITIL Foundation, Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing and Switching, Juniper Security Specialist (JSEC), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching, and MCSE from Microsoft in 2000. Recently, they obtained certifications in Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise SD-WAN Implementation in April 2021 and Juniper Networks Certified Specialist, Service Provider Routing & Switching (JNCIS-SP) in January 2021. However, there is not enough information to determine the month and year of completion for the Configuring Juniper Network Routers (CJNR) certification.
