Derek Smith CPL, EMBA, is a seasoned Senior Staff Field Landman at Devon Energy, specializing in surface land negotiations across Wyoming since October 2017. With a strong background in land management and site acquisition, previous roles include Site Acquisition Specialist at Centerline Solutions and Contract Landman in independent capacities. Derek has extensive experience from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, contributing to acquisitions, divestitures, and process improvements while supporting field operations. Earlier career achievements include negotiating mineral leases and government agreements with Over the Hill Land Services and serving the University of Wyoming's College of Business Advisory Council. Derek holds an Executive MBA from Colorado State University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a marketing minor from the University of Wyoming.
