Derek Sumner

Derek Sumner, PE, has over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on production and facilities engineering. Currently serving as Production Manager for Devon Energy in the Delaware Basin since May 2012, Derek has held multiple roles within the company, including Senior Supervisor of Production & Facilities Engineering, Supply Chain Manager, and Construction/Facilities Engineering Manager. Prior to joining Devon Energy, Derek worked at ConocoPhillips from June 2008 to June 2012, where roles included Operations Planning Engineer, HF Alky Production Engineer, and Coker Production Engineer. Derek holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance & Energy from the University of Oklahoma's Price College of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
