William Shaffer is an accomplished geologist with extensive experience in exploration and development within the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Geologist V at Devon Energy since December 2011, William leads exploration initiatives in the Anadarko Basin and has been instrumental in identifying potential sites for successful horizontal plays. Previous roles at Devon Energy include managing projects for the Austin Chalk and Eagle Ford formations, where significant contributions led to the addition of numerous drilling locations and substantial revenue generation. William's earlier tenure at EOG Resources involved overseeing drilling operations and prospecting conventional reservoirs, while initial geological experience was gained at Pennsylvania General Energy, focusing on the Marcellus Shale. William holds a Master’s degree in Volcanology and Surface Processes and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Paleontology and Mathematics from the University at Buffalo.
