Robert W. Felton

Chairman & Founder at DevonWay

Robert Felton is Founder and Chairman of DevonWay, Inc. In his 40 year career as an entrepreneur, DevonWay represents his third successful company designed to harness new technology to create software solutions for the utility industry.

Following undergraduate work at Cornell, Bob joined the US Navy in the submarine service and served as a Qualified OOD and Nuclear Engineer. At Kaiser Engineers, Bob established a Nuclear Plant Licensing Consulting Business unit. He was a founder of TERA Corporation (later TENERA) which created the first commercial-off-the-shelf nuclear Plant Information Management System (PIMS) and culminated in the firm's initial public offering. Later during the introduction of relational database technology, Bob founded Indus International which supplied departmental computing principles to nuclear asset management, coining the phrase Enterprise Asset Management with Gartner Group. INDUS supplied EAM support to engineering, operations and maintenance disciplines with installations in 70% of the US nuclear fleet. After 26 quarters of sustained growth and earnings INDUS too went public, acquired several other companies, and continues to operate today as ABB|Ventyx.

Bob has continued to use a 30+ year career of nuclear experience to help harness technological innovation so that while DevonWay products remain "evergreen" they also remain solid and production-ready. To achieve this goal, while personally serving as the original venture capitalist, Bob authorized the development of the YourWay platform.

Bob received a BSME degree from Cornell University in 1962, became a Qualified Nuclear Engineer in the US Navy, and later received his MSNE degree from the University of Washington.

Bob enjoys skiing, trekking and keeping up with his four grandsons and four dogs.
