Richard Murby

Richard Murby has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Richard started their career as a Full Stack Developer at Kelkoo in 2000, where they supported sales colleagues and worked with Java, JSP, Perl, and Javascript. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a Technologist at the European Commission, supporting the operation of the largest European Union Embassy and developing custom internal applications.

In 2006, Richard became a Consultant at the World Bank, where they managed specific deployments of the World Bank's crowdsourcing platform and led process innovations on ideation, problem framing, and gamification. Richard later transitioned to become an Innovation Consultant, co-leading the world's largest software development competition - Apps for Development. Richard also served as a resource to senior World Bank management on tech and working practices within the high-growth technology sector.

In 2007, Richard worked as a Media Director at Men's Health Network, and in 2008, they became a Consultant at FWD Media. In 2010, they joined Devpost as a Developer and Hackathon Evangelist, launching the in-person hackathon business and creating key partnerships. Richard later took on roles as Director of Hackathons, where they scaled Devpost's in-person hackathon business to 80% global market share, and as Director of Business Development, leading sales and business development functions.

In 2017, Richard founded their own company, Richard Murby Performance Coaching, LLC, where they work as an Executive Coach, helping individuals maximize and scale their impact in areas such as leadership, strategic planning, prioritization, and communication.

Richard Murby completed an Advanced Diploma in Coaching from NYU School of Professional Studies in 2017. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2007, they attended UCL for an undisclosed degree and field of study. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Section4 Certified Strategist in July 2021 and Foundations of Business Strategy from Coursera in March 2014.
