Michael A. Peel

Michael A. Peel is a Trustee at DeVry University. Michael has also served on the Board of Directors at HireRight from May 2018 to January 2022. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Human Resources & Administration at Yale University from October 2008 to August 2017. In this role, they had University-wide responsibility for Human Resources and other essential Administration functions, reporting directly to Yale's President.

Under their leadership, the Human Resources function at Yale was measurably transformed and they successfully negotiated three consecutive union contracts without strike activity (the longest period of labor peace in modern Yale history). Michael also introduced a best practice "Talent Management Process" which strengthened leadership depth and dramatically improved succession capability for mid and senior level roles. In addition, they achieved all time high University-wide workplace survey scores while dramatically improving performance management, communications, decision speed, and leadership category scores.

Michael A. Peel received their MBA from Columbia Business School and their BS in Management and Operations from James Madison University.
