Yacob Zuriaw

Yacob Zuriaw has a diverse and comprehensive work experience spanning several roles and organizations. In 2012, they served as the Director of Student Advocacy at Santa Monica College, where they acted as a liaison between the Financial Aid and Scholarship office and local government representatives. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Peer Advisor in the Department of International Relations at the University of California, Davis. In 2017, Yacob joined CARE as a Research Assistant Practicum, where they compiled a scalability assessment for the TESFA+ project and prepared research materials for stakeholder mapping. Yacob also worked as a Food and Nutrition Security Intern, exploring beneficiary data and reviewing literature on nutrition and women's empowerment. At Emory University in 2018, Yacob served as a Teaching Assistant and supervised an undergraduate Lab Assistant while devising and instructing lesson plans for a weekly R-programming/Statistics lab. In 2019, they worked as a Data Visualization Specialist at The QED Group, organizing and conducting a workshop on Data Visualization using Tableau. Yacob also served as a Data Visualization Analyst at the Job's Creation Commission in the Federal Government of Ethiopia. Currently, Yacob is working as an Economic Data Analyst at DevTech Systems, Inc.

Yacob Zuriaw pursued their education in a chronological order. Between 2011 and 2013, they attended Santa Monica College, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Social and Liberal Sciences. Afterwards, from 2013 to 2015, they attended the University of California, Davis, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Development Economics and International Development. Finally, from 2017 to 2019, they attended Emory University, where they completed a Master's degree in Development Practice.
