BACKGROUND

Dewar Law provides private client legal services to businesses, artists and media with a focus on all types of business agreements, intellectual property and corporate structures.

Lloyd Dewar, born and raised in Melbourne, graduated from Monash University in 1997 with degrees in law and economics.  Lloyd commenced his legal career at a large suburban practice, before moving into the city working for boutique commercial firms.

Lloyd opened his own firm in 2011 and has many valued clients including manufacturers, retailers, music and media talent, service providers, licensed venues, software and media companies.

Dewar Law specialises in reviewing and drafting all forms of commercial agreement and providing advice in relation to corporate structures.  Intellectual property law has also become a major focus due to a large media and entertainment clientele.

Lloyd has been a legal adviser to Melbourne International Jazz Festival and PBS FM for whom he served also as a director.  His passionate interest in music and media is played out in his private life in which he is a radio announcer, curator, documentarian and runs his own promotions company.
