Gary Spires

Gary Spires is a seasoned professional in plumbing and fire protection design, currently serving as a Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer at Dewberry since May 2013. Prior to this role, Gary held the same title at O'Brien/Atkins Associates from February 2006 to March 2013 and served as a Senior Fire Protection Designer at Freeman White, Inc. from 2001 to 2006. Gary's leadership experience includes positions as Past President and Past VP Tech of the ASPE Raleigh Chapter from 1994 to 2002. Gary was also the Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer and Plumbing Department Head at DSAtlantic from December 1993 to February 2001. Gary began a career in plumbing design at F & G Engineers in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 1979 until December 1993. Gary obtained an Associates Degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from ITT, where studies were completed between 1970 and 1972.
