John W. Durham

John W. Durham, Ph.D., serves as the Senior Manager of R&D Mechanical Engineering at Dexcom since July 2016, following a progressive career in research and development roles within the organization. Prior to this, John co-founded Contour Surgical, focusing on innovative medical device development from December 2012 to July 2018, where significant contributions were made in prototype design and business development. Academic experience includes a postdoctoral position at NC State University, where research centered on high-temperature alloys for nuclear reactors, along with roles as a graduate researcher and instructor in mechanical engineering and material science. John holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Materials Science from North Carolina State University, where educational achievements extend to a Master's and Bachelor's degree in the same field.
