Patrick Mertes is a seasoned professional currently serving as a Senior Territory Business Manager at Dexcom and is the Founder and Board Member of The Diabetes Family Connection. They have dedicated their time to positively transforming the lives of those affected by diabetes through community outreach and support programs. As a public speaker for PROJECT 50-IN-50, Patrick has shared their inspiring journey as the first person living with type 1 diabetes to summit the highest peaks in all 50 U.S. states in just 49 days. Previously, they managed programs at Diabetes Youth Families and led at-risk youth initiatives through Outward Bound USA. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship from Middle Tennessee State University and completed a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
