Rustin Mirsafavi, PhD, currently serves as a Staff Medical Device Engineer at Dexcom since October 2025. Previously, Mirsafavi was a Senior Product Development Engineer at DNA Electronics, leading the development of next-generation library prep cartridges and significantly enhancing PCR performance. With experience as a System Integration Engineer, Mirsafavi reduced prototype cartridge failure rates and integrated various subsystems for the LiDia-SEQ™ instrument. A postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies, Mirsafavi advanced microfluidic device fabrication methods, while prior roles included process engineering at Precision Semiconductor LLC and graduate research at UC Santa Barbara, culminating in a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
