Joe Lauer

Joe Lauer has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Joe is currently the Director of Commerce Product at Dext, where they manage the overall Dext Commerce product. Joe previously founded and served as CEO of Greenback, an accounting automation software company that was acquired by Dext. Prior to that, they were appointed as the Commissioner of 21st Century Economy for the State of Michigan, where they developed a comprehensive economic vision for the state. Joe also founded and served as CEO of Fizzed, a company that incubates and engineers mobile, web, and data products. Joe has managerial experience as an Engineering Manager at Twitter, where they recruited and managed the mobile team. Joe also founded and led Cloudhopper, a company that engineered high-volume mobile messaging programs and was eventually acquired by Twitter. Additionally, they held leadership positions at OpenMarket and Simplewire, where they played key roles in scaling and growing the companies. Joe began their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Rootlevel, specializing in building Internet-based applications for Fortune 500 clients.

Joe Lauer holds a BSE in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Michigan.
