Michael Root

Michael Root is a seasoned professional in product engineering and robotics, currently serving as the Director of Product Engineering for Retail at Dexterity, Inc. since June 2019. Michael has played a critical role in the company’s rapid growth and product deployment, overseeing the development of fulfillment systems and mentoring engineering teams. Prior to Dexterity, Michael held several progressively responsible roles at Vanguard, including Enterprise Architect, where key contributions included architecting a continuous delivery process that significantly improved release cadence. Michael’s early experience includes roles in software development at Millersville University and a foundation in technical infrastructure from the United States Marine Corps. Michael holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.
