Mel Downes

Mel Downes is an accomplished Shopping Centre Manager with extensive experience spanning over two decades in retail property management. Currently serving as the Shopping Centre Manager at Dexus since March 2023, Mel has previously held key management roles at AMP Capital from 2006 to 2023, including the management of significant centres such as Malvern Central and Knox. A solid foundation in residential development was gained through self-employment, where Mel developed four townhouses. Earlier experience includes managing properties for Westfield, Colonial First State Global Asset Management, and Jones Lang LaSalle, along with a strong background in property management at CBRE. Mel holds a Master of Accounting from Swinburne University and a Bachelor of Business from RMIT University, complemented by a BCH in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing.
