Ciara Leacy is a seasoned diplomat who served as a Delegate to the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU (COELA) from 2019 to 2023, representing Ireland in this capacity at the Permanent Representation to the EU. They held various positions within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, including Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Ireland in the Republic of Korea and Desk Officer for South and South East Asia. Currently, they serve as a Delegate to the Middle East/Gulf Working Party (MOG) and have also worked as Desk Officer for the Middle East Peace Process and Acting Head of Mission at the Consulate General of Ireland in Vancouver. Ciara earned a Masters in Common Law and a B.A. in History and English from University College Dublin.
